Last week, I saw the Kid Cudi vs. Crookers video. I wondered why I hadn't seen such a huge release on any blogs, as it premiered a month ago. It turns out Cudi actually hates this video and didn't sign off on its release. On his myspace he wrote, "I AM SOOOO BEYOND UPSET THERES NO WORD TO DESCRIBE HOW I FEEL AT THE MOMENT…IM ALL THE WAY IN AUSTRALIA AND CANT DO SHIT ABOUT ANYTHING." While Cudi's blogging style is a little too vernacular for my taste, I think it's pretty clear that he is upset. At the end of the blog, he implored people not to post the Day N' Nite video on their blogs.
Thing is, the video is actually borderline hilarious, and definitely worth a watch. Cudi is a cool guy, and deserves to have his artistic integrity respected, so I have been pretty torn about whether or not to put it up. After much internal moral debate (because it really is funny), I decided that I will not post the video, and as always, hope for the best for the boy. If your curious, it's not hard to find. But, if you watch it, you should leave a mean comment below it like, "I hate you" or "You're a big jerk."
On the topic of insults, here is an excellent song from the third episode of the new season of Flight of the Conchords. I imagine this is how Cudi felt as he traversed the Outback.

I have seen the video. What I don't understand is, why was he in the video if he wasn't feeling it?
Do you have any details? Why didn't he take some control, walk off the set and enter a drug induced tirade on one of the PAs a la Christian Bale? Any extra info would be much appreciated VT.
although he didn't elaborate on what he was specifically unhappy with in his myspace post (linked to the article), the general sentiment would have me deduce that it was more the end product with which he has problems. maybe it was the directors fault, maybe it had to do with a post-production change in cudi's opinion of the video's theme. although i would be thrilled if this was my video, there was one point at which their was an awkward cut...but i imagine that was not the issue, or at least not the whole issue, as it could be solved pretty easily
there* was an awkward cut
I think AF brings up a very solid point. Why was he in the video if he wasn't feeling it? His problem, I'm assuming, was probably with the complete retardation involved in this video, and not "where the director took it". Being an up and coming artist (with his own style and swag) he definitely was part of the concepting, storyboarding and brainstorming for this video...and I think this is just his way of saying, we fucked it up.
Also, I love you Cudi...but "How you feel at this moment"? Oh, you mean the moment you're in Australia celebrating a thriving music career, smoking aboriginal haze and piping girls who talk like Croc Dundee's sister? Oh yea that moment.
