The You Wildin' Top Sixty Songs of 2008: 60-58

Socially, politically, and culturally speaking, 2008 has had its ups and downs. But musically it has really been a consistently quality and generally incredible year. In order to celebrate, with the help of some of the other authors and a few of my peoples, I have compiled the 60 best songs of 2008.
I initially wanted to do fifty songs, but as I got to number 48 or 49, and there were still about twenty incredible songs that weren't on the list, I decided to lengthen for the sake of inclusion.
The songs on this list were released at some point between yesterday and December of 2007. My personal preferences were obviously considered, but I also tried to acknowledge the influence of the artists and their music on popular culture and the state of music.
There are a few trends on here. The list is largely hip hop and electro, which makes sense considering my background and that both genres have had great years. There are more songs by female artists, or at least bands with with female vocalists, than I had initially anticipated. There are about a dozen remixes. Some songs are on here twice (the original and the best remix). Mostly, however, this list exhibits the genre-fusion which characterized music in 2008.
Shout outs to Lupe, MIA, and the Virgins, artists that we all love who released songs in 2007 that blew up in 2008. Now, lets get in to it.

60) The Proxy- Raven
uhhhhhh. This is the first of several songs on here cuz they make me feel like I'm dusted. So fucking fierce. It's monday morning and thanks to Raven, I am now in the mood to mosh and drink and fight and have sex in a bathroom at Webster Hall.

59) The Game- Big Dreams
With LAX, Game had one of the five best mainstream hip hop albums of the year, and Big Dreams is probably my favourite song on it. Granted, he has an Ellen Degeneres reference which is questionable, but for the most part, dude spits super hard (NH). Plus, Cool and Dre lace the beat. So hot.

58)NERD- EveryBody Nose (Crookers Remix)
The first of a couple Crookers tracks on here, All the Girls is not the most pleasant sounding song in the world. But, its very well produced, there is a lot of depth and versatility in the beat, and the hook is soooooooooo catchy.
The original track (What Up Strats) is purrtty dope too. peep here
