Sitting on the D train this morning, I was attempting to block out a baby-mama-drama unfolding in the seats next to me when I came across an aptly titled article in the New York Post, which read, “Porno Cure For Elect-ile Dysfunction” – is the Post ever short on puns?

Apparently, porn starlet Stormy Daniels (pictured above), winner of the 2007 Golden G-String award (yes, such a thing exists), is about to seriously deep throat Louisiana’s 2010 U.S. Senate race.

The double-D-diva kicked off a listening tour in her home state on Wednesday with the hope of garnering enough clout to make a serious run against GOP incumbent David Vitter. Vitter, a Christian family-values Republican, was shamed in 2007 after he was caught cavorting with prostitutes – looks like all that religious repression caught up to him.

Daniels, 30, best known for her work in “Space Nuts” – a highly acclaimed porn block(cock)buster – is running on the campaign slogan “Stormy Daniels: Screwing People Honestly.”

She decided to make a run for the seat after seeing an online campaign called "Draft Stormy". Whatever inspired her to run, it is most certainly dragging Vitter's 2007 prostitution bust back into the spotlight.
"He ran for the Senate on a family values, anti-sex-education platform. And he's caught with prostitutes. That's hypocritical. Call me what you will, but you can't call me a hypocrite," said Daniels.

This will most definitely be the race to watch in 2010, if only for the comedic value.
