Slim Shady's new single, We Made You comes equipped with Mark Ronson-ish production, good song composition, and a surprisingly dope feature by Jessica Simpson. The video is inline with the first video on all of Em's albums; full of silly outfits and scenarios. I like that dude is still taking shots at people- Amy Winehouse, John Mayer, Sarah Palin- to name a few. And obviously the lyrics are generally awesome. But I can't help but notice that Em seems like he is putting even more affectation on his voice than he used to. Matter of fact, that was the first thing I noticed. I think I like this song, and I do like Crack a Bottle and Relapse (the freestyle), but it seems like he is trying too hard. Then again, I'm sure he feels all kind of pressure to return in top form. Nevertheless, I am a bit worried that Relapse (the album) will be slightly unbelievable, and Em will sound like he is trying to convince us that he is relevant, making him seem less so. Maybe I'm wildin. I guess we will see in 41 days.
