Brother Ali is an overweight, legally blind, Albino rapper. And in case you didn't know: he's sick with it. The Rhymesayers affiliate has been in the game for almost a decade and is just starting to get his due praise. Ali has been hailed as one of the "New Artists to Watch" by Rolling Stone, featured twice in The Source (I guess still a credible hip hop magazine?), and garnered respect from countless other media outlets. When he's not getting dissed by Verizon Wireless for his song content, Ali is spearheading my "hip hop is not dead please open your eyes" campaign. Today he drops a full length DVD and nine song EP entitled, "The Truth is Here." I'm on the B train to Fat Beats in about 5 minutes to cop this (support your local record store), but if you can't get there as easy I can, you can go to Amazon.
