NJ Leading the Way?

I hate to say this, but New Jersey has just one upped NYC. Yes its true. Today the state senate from the land of Bruce, Bon Jovi, and Newark Airport, voted 22-16 in favor the New Jersey Compassionate Use Medical Marijuana Act. The legislation will make herb available to people suffering from chronic illnesses, including but not exclusive to AIDS, cancer, glaucoma, and Chrons disease. Patients will need a doctors note and approval from the state Department of Health. The bill still has to get through the state assembly, but this is a huge step in the right, yet very hazy direction.

"I'm really happy and proud to be from what i consider to be the 4th most progressive state in the union (behind mass, vermont, and new york). I know I'd pay. It's time that NY (gulp) started keeping pace with NJ. If pot was decriminalized in NYC, imagine the enormous boost to our stumbling economy. So, Gov. Patterson, Mayor Bloomberg, if you're listening, and you want to do whats good for business as well as for the people, do as my man Peter Tosh says and...

one of the few good looks ever made by NJ. guess what city leads the world in marijuana possession arrests: yep, NYC. stop wasting taxpayer money on making it more difficult for us to blaze. we'll always find a way.
