Read an article in HuffPo today saying that attorney general Eric Holder has made it clear that the Justice Department will stop raiding legal medical marijuana clubs. The artilce is OD long, so I honestly only skimmed it, but it sounds like this was a policy that Holder and Barry O may have come up with over a spliff while listening to the Fugees. Just playing, this move is a clear statement that the Obama administration will pragmatically address the ludicrously expensive and self-perpetuating war on drugs that has been proven to raise crime rates and increase incarceration.
The writer of the piece in HuffPo says that "Holder's declaration is a high point for the movement to legalize medical marijuana, which has been growing for decades despite federal hostility." This news combined with the news out of NJ is certainly promising. Keep it movin'.
