Gordon Voidwell aka Will Johnson has recently been compared to Prince by a couple credible sources, and really, it's not hard to see why. His synths are an homage to late-seventies, early-eighties dance-pop, and his falsetto conjures thoughts of Mr. Purple Rain himself. But beyond the evident comparison, Voidwell is an extremely versatile artist, who can just as easily drop an "ohhh" worthy freestyle as produce and perform proto-pop singles that make you dance and think at the same time.
He will be performing tonight at Brooklyn Public Assembly along with Bottle Up and Go and Suckers for the Convival Gentry party, which should be a krunkfest.
Peep Gordon's music here and come back in a bit for the pregame playlist.
