Good shit, nice article. The Real World is trash and so are the people on it. Scripted ass bullshit, just like everything else on MTV. Hey, remember in the early 90's when MTV used to actually play dope videos, instead of reality tv that is anything but real?

I feel you. I remember that a few years ago, MTV had an EXTREMELY short-lived ad campaign that said, "MTV: We Don't Play Music." That was probably the most poorly conceived concept ever, hence, the immediate deading of it. The one and only time I heard it, I my eyebrows rose in disbelief.

Now, they've even deaded TRL, that only played about 30 seconds of the worst songs possible. They are a worthless network. Here is the debate: Is VH1 better or worse than MTV?

I don't know because I don't have tv but still, their programming is practically parallel or congruent or something.

They are both worthless stations. They are reality networks, not music networks.Probem is: artists are still making great music videos. If I could turn on a channel that had guaranteed dope music videos around the clock, i would. However, there isn't one...thus me searching YouTube for music videos. Thus also..the inevitable death of television as we know/knew it. It CAN compete with the diversity of the web, it just chooses not to.

As far as that commute goes, I don't mean to be a stickler but...isn't that the reverse hipster commute? Going BK bound early in the AM and 8th Ave bound in the evening? Just a thought.

great piece, AF. I myself will DEF be watching this tonight; judging hardbody, spitting at the tee vee, AND blessing Viacom with higher ratings.

As for music channels... talk talk to time warner cable about that one. MTV Jams and VH1 soul are both off the chains and we get neither of them.

vh1 is a great time wasting channel, if you stay in bed with a girl long enough watching vh1, ur bound to get an hj. mtv is worthless.
