The You Wildin' Top Sixty Songs of 2008: 27-25

27) Lykke Li- Little Bit (CSS Remix)
What do you get when you cross four Brazilian women with one Brazilian man, and a lovely, 22 year old Swedish girl? This awesome song. The original is higher up on the list, but this remix is ridick. I love the added synth lines, the dance-able arrangement, and the delay on LykKe Li's perfectly toned voice.

26) Q-Tip- Gettin Up
In an age of high-tech over production, vocoders, and songs that conjure unrealistic images, it is so refreshing to hear songs like this. Q-Tip is undoubtedly one of the most influential emcees of all time, and after nearly two decades, he is still on point. Good throwback beat. And Q is just a generally awesome dude. He DJs every Friday at Santos, which I am still yet to see, but I hear it is the jam. So here's to Q-Tip keeping it real for twenty more years.
video here.
25) Duffy- Mercy
First off, what the fuck? Shorty is younger than me and Welsh. How the fuck does she sound like the lead singer from the Newark First Baptist Quire circa 1962? Either way, Duffy is pretty awesome, and suddenly pretty fucking famous. Her album was nominated for three grammy's and has sold over four million copies TI hasn't done that. Mercy is a sexy, well composed and arranged throwback that I could twist to until my legs fell from my hips.
