I think most of the YW.com crew will attest to the utter amazingness of Adele, and her album, 19, which broke in the States this past summer. I fell in love again when I saw her live at the Highline Ballroom.
Last night, VT and I were discussing the difficulty of remixing singers while managing to keep the proper tempo. Not to mention, creating a product that doesn't sound like straight cacophony. Mick Boogie - a talented producer, DJ, and mixtape composer - disappointed me with this one. His reinterpretation of Adele's 19, entitled 1988 (supposedly representing hip hop's "golden age"), is not that bad. But a couple of the songs are almost as painful to listen to as me trying to create 808s on fruity loops. I mean, they practically Grand Cannon plunge off tempo. I do have to concede that the remixes are not done by MB himself, rather a collection of DJs and producers. Still, I expected a lot more from Mick Boogie.
Maybe I've listened to the real album too many times and I can't accept change? Am I wildin?

Tired (6th Sense remix) and Melt My Heart To Stone (remix w/ Big Pooh) are a couple standouts. Kill yourself to My Same (Garbs remix).
