Mermaids, Canadiens, French-Canadiens and a French dude

I was mad excited to hear what Chromeo could do to Feist's fantastic cover of Nina Simone's sexy original (the quality is shitty but it is all I could find). And they popped it off with a lovely combination of their electro-funk instrumentation and Feist's crisp, piercing vocals.

Sea lion woman, by the way, is a reference to the times of long maritime journeys and delusional sailors who imagined that the sea lions they saw were actually mermaids. Dope topic for a song.
Anyway, I am a bit annoyed that I couldn't find good audio of Nina's version. She is one of my favourite artists of all time and there has to be a couple of people who read this blog who need to be put on. So instead, here is her classic and haunting version of Jacques Brel's Ne Me Quitte Pas (don't quit [leave] me).
Ne Me Quitte Pas - Nina Simone
and the original as well
