NBC’s psychic melodrama “Medium” got a little taste of comedy last week.
Production on the show was temporarily shut down earlier this month when an unruly extra in a tense courtroom scene featuring Patricia Arquette had to be thrown off the set. But here’s the funny part: the extra turned out to be "Borat" star Sacha Baron Cohen, in disguise, filming his next movie.
The film is tentatively titled, "Bruno: Delicious Journeys Through America for the Purpose of Making Heterosexual Males Visibly Uncomfortable in the Presence of a Foreigner in a Mesh T-Shirt."
Security forcibly removed Cohen from the jury box and production resumed.
It was unclear how Cohen gained entry to the set, and whether he was secretly filming his performance for his own use. Prior to the Nov. 7 invasion in Los Angeles, he’d had been shooting other "crash" footage for his new film.
"No one had a clue it was Sacha playing Bruno," a studio source told a weekly magazine. "It's amazing he was able to infiltrate the set and pull this off."
Bruno is a flamboyant fashion reporter who was among several characters Cohen originally portrayed on "Da Ali G. Show."
If you haven’t seen any of Bruno’s skits, go to YouTube and check out his visit to Alabama – where, among other things, he attends a Libertarian Festival, hits on a college football player and cheerleads at a football game while being showered with derogatory comments.
So what do you guys think about this movie? Will it be a “wassup” or “ish don’t think so?”
