Strugglesville

The latest monthly poll results are in. The Struggle has been crowned as the #1 catalyst for wildin. Tied in second place were Society and Drug/Alcohol Abuse.

In college, I lived with a wilder. I won't reveal his name, but we'll call him Wizzle for now. Wizzle is the type of dude that would wake up in the morning, after a night of hard drinking, walk out of his room in nothing but his boxer briefs and light up a cigarette. At this point, he'd sit on the couch and stare at the wall, dazed and confused about what had happened the night before. He'd shake his head as he exhaled his cig, and let out a nice phlegmy cough. When I'd come out of my bedroom to find Wizzle on the couch, he'd say to me "Damn. What the fuck happened?" I would then explain to him (for example), how he got on his knees and prayed to a tree, punched our roommate in the face, and jumped off our 14 foot balcony. He would look at me, cigarette in hand and his head still shaking, and utter, "Stuggles."

Wizzle didn't say, "Damn, alcohol is wack!" or "I should quit drinking." No, he blamed it on The Struggle. It was his scapegoat, worst enemy, and his best friend. He learned to embrace The Struggle---a wildin' sense of enlightenment.

This month, the You Wildin' community chose the correct catalyst. You got beef with that? Struggles for you, kiddo.
