I must be out of my fucking mind to smoke cigarettes in NYC these days. I say, "in NYC", because the city just raised the tax on cigarettes a couple dollars. Now, when I go to a store in midtown to buy myself a pack of Camels, the shopkeep smiles and says, "$10.50". At this point, I look at him as if it's his fault. It's not. If it were up to him he'd be pushing loosies and amateur porn flicks from behind the counter. Who is responsible? The man.
It's fine. I know cigs are bad. I know that if you place more taxes on them then less people will smoke. Fine. Fuck you. It's all gravy, I eat those! 10.50! Please. Hike that shit up to 30 bills a pop and I'll still be fiend. But, why do I have to live in the city with the highest cig prices in the US? I'm a pull away from moving to Rhode Island. <--- Wildin'. I guess I'm in it for the long run, which makes both me and The Man--wilding.
Let me just point out a few more wilders in this situation.
•Soft packs. What does a soft pack bring to the table? The cigs crumble inside them if the slightest pressure is applied and they fall out if you turn them upside down. I've been trying to think of a rational reason to cop a softpack over a hardpack, and I'm at a loss. That Dude pointed out that you can hit the bottom and pop a cig out. I'll pass on the Greaser status. Soft Pack=Softbody.
•Smokers who don't cop packs. Are you fucking kidding me. As the great rapper Joseph Buddens said, "I'm confused, you came in the club with straight Prada, but you ask me for a cig when these cost me eight dollars?"
Let it Marinate.
